'Breaking Dawn' To Be Two Movies, Sources Say

Studio wants 'New Moon' director Chris Weitz to helm two-part adaptation, Variety reports.

Last month, MTV News asked "New Moon" star Kristen Stewart who would be her dream director for "Breaking Dawn," the yet-unannounced adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's final novel in the "Twilight" vampire series.

"I think Chris Weitz should do it," she said. "I had such a good experience with him on 'New Moon.' He was so considerate and there and passionate and compassionate. One of the nicest guys I've ever met in my life."

Summit Entertainment might have been listening — that or they're thrilled with the impressive box-office take of "New Moon" in its first two weeks. According to a report in Variety, the "Breaking Dawn" gig is Weitz's if he wants it, though no official offer has been made. What's more, it might actually turn out to be two gigs. As has long been rumored, sources told Variety that Summit plans to split the final book into two separate movies, to be shot back to back.

Both films would likely be scripted by Melissa Rosenberg, who has penned the first three adaptations in the franchise. Meyer must first approve the two-movie decision.

One of the key impediments in making two "Breaking Dawn" flicks is that Summit would have to reopen negotiations with Stewart and co-stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, who are signed up for only four films. Following the two-week, $231 million domestic haul of "New Moon," the stars could command payment in the eight-figure range, according to Variety.

The prospect of two "Breaking Dawn" films also raises the question of whether or not Weitz would willingly sign up for the work and publicity load such a commitment would entail. Weitz has said that his next project will be "The Gardener," though Summit has not yet signed a deal to make the film. Last week he told Entertainment Weekly that while he is interested in directing another "Twilight" film, the idea of another globe-trotting PR tour left him saying, "I just think I would die."

Stewart isn't the only "Twilight" star who has a high opinion of Weitz. "He's very calm and he's very, very focused," Pattinson said. "You never feel pressure, but the ball's always rolling. Nothing ever feels held up. It's been a real pleasure working with him."

"Chris is amazing," Lautner seconded. "Flawless. He's so relaxed, and he really cares about our opinions, and he truly cares about this project. He cares about the books, he cares about the series."

NEW MOON grossed $118.1 million from 6,681 prints in 25 markets in its first 5 days of release. That brought its worldwide gross to $258.8 million so far. A number of markets are still to report:

ARGENTINA
Argentina launched at No. 1 with 1,23M pesos (325K USD) capturing 82% of the audience with 85K admissions. It is the second best opening of the year, behind Harry Potter 6, and the 10th best opening ever in Argentina, outperforming the opening of Harry Potter 1-5. Market cume is $1,6M.

AUSTRALIA
NEW MOON grossed $15M AUD ($13.33M) from the 4-day weekend. It was the biggest industry opening, beating Harry Potter 6 which grossed $14.33M AUD. Opening day was the 3rd highest of all time. Midnight results were the highest since Star Wars: Episode 3 that garnered A$1,260M ($1.2M USD) in May 2005. NEW MOON played on 466 screens and grossed A$1.7M AUD ($1.6M). Market cume is $13.3M.

BRAZIL
The opening day grossed an estimated 3.7M Reals. Market cume is $7.4M.

BELGIUM
NEW MOON opened at No. 1. It is the second Opening day of all time, right after Harry Potter 5 (which was released on a Wednesday but during the summer) and outperformed Harry Potter 1-4.
Market cume is $2.6M.

CROATIA
NEW MOON had a record opening in Croatia, No. 1 with $225K from 15 screens. Its 3-day opening weekend is No. 1 for 2009, No. 1 opening 3-day weekend for all time.

FRANCE
NEW MOON launched at No. 1 with an estimated $17.04M from 1.9M admissions. It opened with 488K admissions on its first day from 751 prints, for a whopping $4.36M on Day One. In comparison, Twilight did 141K admissions and grossed $1.15M. NEW MOON was competing with a qualifying game by the national team to enter the next Football World Cup. Market cume is $17M.

GREECE
A No. 1 opening on Thursday, NEW MOON tallied €287,135 ($428K) from 96 screens making it the 3rd highest opening day of all time for that territory. The result is more than twice Twilight’s opening day, and significantly higher than Harry Potter 6 and Quantum Of Solace. Market cume is $1.2M.

HOLLAND
Another No. 1 for NEW MOON. The first day grossed €135,454 from 73 prints. NEW MOON's opening is 4 times that of Twilight’s at €33,000. Market cume is $1M.

ITALY
NEW MOON grossed €1.83M (USD $2.7) from 625 screens, with more still to report. It's the 3rd highest Wednesday opening ever in Italy and the best Saturday ever, with 2.9M Euros from 770 screens. Market cume is $13M.

MEXICO
Launched on Thursday to 20.2M Pesos ($1.55M USD) so far, including midnight screenings, The opening is on par with Iron Man and way ahead of 2012 (15.6M Pesos). Market cume is $7.4M.

NEW ZEALAND
With NZ$2.615M ($1.9M USD), it's the biggest Industry opening, ousting local favorite Peter Jackson's Lord Of The Rings 3 which did NZ$2.609M. On its opening day, NEW MOON grossed 902,122 NZD ($672K) from 54 screens, the 2nd biggest industry opening day in New Zealand, right behind Lord Of The Rings: Return of the King. Market cume is $1.9M.

POLAND
Market cume is $1.4M.

HUNGARY
NEW MOON opened with 37.653 admissions and HUF 41.3M (USD 230k). This is the 4th best opening day of all time after Harry Potter 5 & 6 and Star Wars 3. Market cume is $750K

THE PHILIPPINES
According to early results, NEW MOON is set to be the largest opening weekend in the history of The Philippines. Its opening day was the biggest of 2009, outperforming Transformers 2 opening day comps. Market cume is $2.1M

RUSSIA
Market cume is $6M.

SPAIN
NEW MOON opened with €1,475M (USD $2.2) from 652 screens on its first day. It's the 3rd best Wednesday opening day ever, just behind two Harry Potter installments, and finally surpassing Lord Of The Rings 3. Market cume is $13.7M.

SWITZERLAND
After two days NEW MOON brought in a total $203K off 29 prints in the French and Italian regions. Currently, it’s poised to be No.1 in both regions for the weekend. (The German region releases with Germany next week). Market cume is $767K.

UK
The highest grossing international market, NEW MOON made 4.6M GBP on its opening day. It was the No. 2 opening film of all time, right behind Quantum Of Solace which opened with 4.9 GBP. Market cume is $18.7M.

'Twilight' sequel nabs $140.7 million

Marking the third best weekend opening of all time, Summit Entertainment's female-driven sequel 'New Moon' grossed an estimated $140.7 million.

Sandra Bullock starrer 'The Blind Side' hit no. 2 over the weekend, providing another example of the strength of older women at the box office.

Biting off the third best weekend opening of all time with $140.7 million from 4,024 theaters, Summit Entertainment's female-fueled "New Moon" explodes the myth that you need an all-audience film to do that level of biz, or that fanboys hold all the power.

At the international B.O., the vampire romancer bowed to $118.1 million from 6,681 prints in 26 territories for a sparkling worldwide opening total of $258.8 million.

The power of femmes also astounded with the overperformance of Warner Bros.' Sandra Bullock sports drama "The Blind Side," which debuted domestically to an estimated $34.5 million from 3,110 theaters. Together, "New Moon" and "Blind Side" led the second-best weekend ever in terms of total ticket receipts. (The "New Moon" aud was approximately 80% female, "Blind Side's," 59%.)

Domestic B.O. revs for the weekend are estimated around $250 million; the only weekend to do more was "The Dark Knight" open-ing frame. That July 2008 sesh saw roughly $260 million in ticket sales.

Distributors were exuberant over the results, particularly as it occurred outside summer. They are hoping it portends a lucrative Thanksgiving, which brings a crop of new films.

The third new wide release of the frame was Sony's kiddie toon "Planet 51." Pic, distributed on behalf of Spain's Ilion Animation, debuted to $12.6 million from 3,035 theaters, coming in No. 4. It was easily beat out for No. 3 by Sony's own "2012," which declined 59% in its second frame to an estimated $26.5 million for a cume of $108.2 million.

Overseas, "2012" grossed $100.5 million from 107 markets for a cume of $341.1 million and a stupendous worldwide total of $449.3 million in its first 10 days.

The specialty B.O. continued to see strong results for Lionsgate's "Precious." Drama grossed $11 million as it expanded to a total of 629 theaters domestically for a per-location average of $17,500 and cume of $21.4 million in its third sesh. Film came in No. 6 overall.

Among specialty openers, Pedro Almodovar's "Broken Embraces" opened to $107,597 from two theaters in New York for a location average of $53,798. Sony Pictures Classics is distributing.

First Look saw a soft debut for Werner Herzog's Nicolas Cage topliner "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans." Pic grossed an estimated $257,267 from 27 theaters for a location average of $9,528.

Twentieth Century Fox's animated "Fantastic Mr. Fox" held well in its second frame, grossing an estimated $199,142 from four locations for a foxy theater average of $49,786 and cume of $557,678. Voiced by George Clooney and Meryl Streep, the Wes Anderson-directed family/prestige film expands nationwide on Wednesday.

After "Embraces" and "Mr. Fox," "New Moon" grabbed the third-best location average of the weekend at $34,965.

"New Moon" -- grossing nearly double "Twilight's" $69.6 million debut a year ago -- began breaking records not long after it unspooled at 12:01 a.m. Friday, securing itself a spot in the pantheon of hit franchise pics and marking a huge victory for Summit.

Sequel grossed $26.3 million in midnight runs, besting record-holder "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" ($22.2 million).

Full Friday number clocked in at $72.7 million -- including midnight grosses -- the best opening day in history and beating the $67.2 million earned by "Dark Knight" on its first Friday.

Heading into the weekend, rival studios believed "New Moon" would have trouble going north of $110 million, since it is driven by only two out of four quadrants of the moviegoing audience: Females under 25, and those over. Even Summit execs might have agreed.

But the ferocious appetite for the franchise among girls and younger women proved those predictions wrong. Of the females turning out, a full 50% were under 21.

"This blew away a lot of preconceived notions about who you should play to, and how you get to a certain group," Summit prexy of distribution Richie Fay said.

Despite Friday's huge numbers, "New Moon" declined only about 41% on Saturday, the same drop "Twilight" had sen. That indicates that the fanbase has grown, since "New Moon" did so much more for the weekend.

For years, studios have relied on fanboy-driven films or families for big opening grosses. Thanks to long lives, female properties can ultimately see big grosses; they just haven't opened so big.

"Twilight" cumed $192.8 million domestically and $192.2 million at the foreign B.O. for a worldwide total of $385 million. All eyes will be on "New Moon" to see by how much it might eclipse that total.

For the last year, Summit has carried out a well-orchestrated marketing campaign for the sequel, directed by Chris Weitz and returning Kristen Stewart and teen heartthrobs Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner in the lead roles.

Sales of Stephenie Meyers' four-book "Twilight" series also have continued to climb. Two years ago, 1 million copies had sold worldwide. Today, that figure stands at 85 million.

As in the U.S., "New Moon" is shining overseas, outgunning or matching franchises "Harry Potter" and "The Lord of the Rings." It scored the top opening of all time in Australia ($13.3 million), New Zealand ($2.6 million) and the Philippines ($2.1 million). "New Moon" generated enormous business in Europe, led by the U.K. ($18.7 million), France ($17 million), Spain ($13.7 million) and Italy ($13 million). It also generated plenty of interest in Latin America. Summit owns worldwide rights to the film, but it is being released via local distribs overseas.

Summit releases the next title in the franchise, "Eclipse," on June 30, 2010. Just as "New Moon" worked with femme fans, so did "Blind Side." Film received an A+ from CinemaScore.

Warners prexy of domestic distribution Dan Fellman said that 75% of the audience was over age 25, meaning it got older women not so distracted by "New Moon."

"Blind Side" delivered Bullock the top opening of her career, besting the $33.6 million opening of Disney's "The Proposal" in June. Film is based on the real-life story of Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Michael Oher, played by Quinton Aaron.

Also starring Tim McGraw, "Blind Side" was financed and produced by Alcon Entertainment. Opening was Alcon's best to date.

"The movie did well in all markets, but we saw outstanding results in small towns and middle-sized markets," Fellman said. "And I think younger people will start to gravitate to us. I think they were busy this weekend.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon Movie Review

It's here. The Twilight Saga: New Moon is finally upon us, ready for Twilighters the world over to sink their teeth into for every longing glance, romantic beat, killer transformation, and shirtless hunk. Our review in a nutshell: New Moon is a vast improvement over Twilight, but that's far from high praise, as the first film -- with its lame visual effects, dull pacing, some stiff acting, etc. -- set the bar very, very low.

But first, the story: Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) are back, and there's trouble in the air. Edward, being a vampire and all, knows that he shouldn't be with the mortal teen Bella, and, as much as he loves her, as much as it pains him, he dumps her -- cold and hard -- and leaves Forks. Unbeknownst to Bella, of course, Edward would die for her. He loves her too much to not be with her and, believing her to be dead, sets off to Italy to find those vampires, the Volturi, that can finally kill him and put him out of his misery. Meanwhile, Bella falls into a funk that's only lifted fleetingly when she hangs out with her old friend, the now gorgeous, buff and initially upbeat Jacob (Taylor Lautner), who practically howls at the moon over Bella. And that makes sense, actually, since he's a werewolf, though he, too, soon ditches Bella in order to keep her safe from harm.

Now, the love triangle should generate some serious heat, but it doesn't. Actually, it almost can't. Edward's gone, and on view for a good portion of New Moon only as a figment of Bella's imagination when she tempts death by thrill seeking; it's one of the unavoidable pitfalls of adhering to the plot of the Stephenie Meyer novel. While there's still plenty of chemistry between Stewart and Pattinson, there's not enough of it on the screen, and the absence is only compounded by the lack of romantic spark between Stewart and Lautner. Though, in fairness to both of them, their early buddy-buddy scenes provide a fair chunk of the minimal humor in the whole she-bang. Any other laughs are of the unintended variety, as when Edward mopes interminably or a character actually utters the awful pun, "I guess the wolf's out of the bag," or when, after turning up in scene after scene without a shirt, we get a glimpse of Jacob in bed... fully clothed.

So then, what makes New Moon better than Twilight? It's better shot, for starters. Director Chris Weitz keeps the camera out of everyone's faces, allowing more than one actor -- or one part of an actor -- in a shot at a time, and he even makes room to include some of what's in the background, like trees and water and sunsets. The visual effects are far superior this go-round, giving oomph to the big wolf-vampire battles. And the pivotal set piece in Italy, involving the Volturi in their ancient digs, delivers the goods, with Michael Sheen perfectly smarmy as Aro, Dakota Fanning serving up the heeby-jeebies as the pint-sized mind controller, Jane, and both Stewart (in hero mode) and Pattinson (in victim mode) coming through with a measure of palpable passion when it counts most. On the other hand, getting to that scene is pure silliness, with Bella and the oh-so-fashionably dressed Alice (Ashley Greene) racing through hills and crowds in a super-hot sports car. And though many of the familiar faces from the first film receive little screen time in the sequel, Edi Gathegi scores in his too-brief, menacing bit as Laurent, Peter Facinelli has a memorable scene as good-guy Dr. Cullen, Billy Burke nicely plays Bella's concerned father, and Greene is extremely entertaining.

At the end of the day, though, much of what's wrong with New Moon is what was wrong with Twilight. It's lightweight, PG-13, teen angst with a vampire twist. There's no sex, which is OK, but no lust, either, which isn't OK. There's just desire, and that gets boring to watch. And then, no insult to Stewart intended, but it's a total mystery as to what's so remarkably special about the relentlessly gloomy, bloodless Bella that both Edward and Jacob would go to the ends of the Earth for her. Oh well, there's always Eclipse... and Breaking Dawn.

Movie Review: “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”

The players: Director: Chris Weitz, Writer: Melissa Rosenberg, Cast: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Michael Sheen, Dakota Fanning

Facts of interest: To be honest, I can't think of any.

The plot: Bella is devastated when Edward leaves her.

Our thoughts: Bella, Edward and Jacob are back in action in Chris Weitz’s anticipated sequel “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” but sadly enough, they’re all still as boring as in the first film. Okay, “Moon” is a slight improvement on “Twilight,” but as far as I’m concerned, it’s still as cheesy and lifeless. In fact, it’s quite a boring ride, actually.

First, let me point out that I haven’t read and certainly never will read Stephenie Meyer’s books. I understand her novels attracted a worldwide following, but this whole vampire romance hysteria just isn’t my thing. Maybe that’s the reason I simply can’t warm up to the big-screen adaptations. Or maybe the films are just too slow-moving and bland for my taste.

Anyway, “New Moon” is a messy film that never really takes off and doesn’t really have much to offer except a couple of mediocre action sequences. The rest is all endless talking, none of which is particularly intriguing or enlightening. It’s a pedestrian show from start to finish, and I still don’t understand what’s so special about it.

In this sequel, Edward (Robert Pattinson) pretty much messes up Bella’s existence when he shows up and tells her he will leave and never come back. Bella just knows too much about his family, and he simply can’t run the risk of letting something happen to her. He quickly hugs her goodbye and disappears into the woods. Ouch!

As it turns out, Bella has trouble coping with this dramatic break-up, and during the next couple of months, she’s haunted by brutal nightmares. The only one capable of pulling her out of her dark hole is the shirtless Jacob (Taylor Lautner), who boasts some fancy abs and knows exactly how to take her mind off all the bad things.

As it turns out, however, Bella can’t quite forget about her vampire sweetie, and before she knows it, she’s on her way around the world trying to stop him from making a fatal mistake. I know all this sounds incredibly dramatic and intense, but on screen, most of it either lacks intensity or just sounds and looks a little too ridiculous for my taste.

Bella’s struggle with the departure of Edward and her sudden feelings for Jacob are obviously at the center of the film, and although Kristen Stewart does a better job playing her confused character, I still found myself unable to connect with any of these figures. Maybe I should leave that to the 14-year-olds who can’t help but scream every time Pattinson or Lautner show up in a scene.

As I mentioned before, “New Moon” lacks decent pacing, even though the plot seems incredibly rushed at times. A couple of unimpressive action moments here and there serve as attempts to boost the film’s entertainment value, but I admit they didn’t really work for me in the end. Neither did the mostly corny, weird dialogue.

I have to say this though: as a comedy, “New Moon” works much better. Luckily, the film doesn’t always take itself too seriously, and most of its comic moments really made me laugh. I also enjoyed Weitz’s direction, a superior soundtrack, and undoubtedly improved visual effects. Too bad the film tanks in the story department.

Pattinson still looks pale and stiff, and his acting is hardly impressive. Lautner is much better this time around, and so is Stewart. Bella is the kid with the biggest troubles in this film, and she manages to pull off at least a few lines without sounding like a total weirdo. Dakota Fanning’s cameo is memorable, but her screen time is way too limited.

The final word: Here’s the deal: many Twilighters out there will adore “New Moon,” and that’s fine with me. What I wrote here is my personal opinion, and I’m definitely not sorry to say this sequel disappointed me almost as much as the original “Twilight.” I can only hope they’ll take it up a notch in “Eclipse” and “Breaking Down.” Two down, and two more to go...

Well, it's official—last night's midnight screenings of New Moon raked in $26.27M and beat the record held by the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for most advance sales of any film ever!

Fans may be loving the on-screen chemistry between Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart (or Taylor Lautner, if thats your thing), but critics are not so keen on the Vampire flick.

Roger Ebert claims that the film's characters "charisma is by Madame Tussaud."

The Boston Globe remarks "Sorry, girls: The thrill is gone," adding that "where the first film’s director, Catherine Hardwicke, plugged into [author Stephenie] Meyer’s vision of supernatural teenage lust with abandon, Chris Weitz is stuck with a sequel that’s a morning-after mope-fest."

And Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times says Lautner and Kristen Stewart lack any sort of chemistry. "The connection between these two is so self-evidently non-romantic that it turns out not to be much of a diversion."

The movie is expected to make $100 million over the weekend.

Kristen Stewart insists she isn't dating her 'Twilight' co-star Robert Pattinson.

The 19-year-old actress - who plays Robert's character's lover in the first movie in the series - understands why fans would want them to date in real-life but a there is a difference between fiction and reality.

She said of her handsome 23-year-old co-star: "I get why fans want to know more about the cast as real people and they want us to be together and all of that.

"I just have to sort of not think about that. People have a hard time separating us from our characters."

Kristen also confessed she is a control freak and used to worry about how she publicly came across, but now claims she doesn't care what people think of her.

She told Parade magazine: "As soon as I stopped trying to control everything that came out of my mouth and every picture of me that came out, that's when I became so much happier.

"It wasn't like some big turning point, I've just grown into being able not to care as much. I realise that I'm not going to be able to influence the way everybody perceives me."

Rumours of Kirsten and Robert dating circulated again last week after their 'Twilight Saga: New Moon' co-star Peter Facinelli linked a photo of them holding hands at a Paris airport to his Twitter page.

He wrote: "Co-stars caught holding hands. Guess this picture proves everything."

'Twilight' director Catherine Hardwicke also recently claimed the pair were in a relationship, saying: "I didn't have a camera in the hotel room. I cannot say. In terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn't happen on the first movie. Nothing crossed the line while on the first film.

"I think it took a long time for Kristen to realise, 'OK, I've got to give this a go and really try to be with this person.' "

MTV: Love Bites Charade

At one time MTV was on the 'cutting edge' of all things cool. Lately they have turned into nothing but gossipmongers. I tuned in last night and was appalled watching their 'special' on things Twilight. The first half hour was nothing but all the rumors about the 'Robsten' garbage, gathered together and put on the small screen. Oh yeah that was such a treat.

Not!!!

I did post a previous article though saying that this was what the special was about but somehow actually seeing it was a downer.

I didn't even watch the other half hour I was so disgusted, called 'New Moon Revealed,' which looked like it was focusing more on Twilight the movie saga rather then a bunch of rumors concerning Robert and Kristen's off screen relationship.

Tapping into exclusive interviews and never-before-seen footage, MTV delves into one of the most rumored Hollywood romances between “Twilight” stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, in an exclusive half-hour special “Love Bites,” premiering Monday, November 16 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Continuing to report on the “Twilight” phenomenon, MTV News will answer some of Twilighter’s burning questions in “New Moon Revealed” at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT.

“Love Bites” gets up close and personal chronicling the rumored romance between Pattinson and Stewart from its early stages through present day. MTV digs into the archives to give viewers a look at their first, very intimate audition on a casting couch and their first interview, where the two candidly talk about nights spent together.

Hitting the streets of Vancouver and Portland where the films were shot, viewers will find out what goes on when the cast has down time and what local bars, restaurants and locations they frequent, as well as hear from people who see them when they are off camera.

From rumors of an engagement, to nasty break-ups and even nights with other celebrities, the love life obsession with the cast is at an all-time high, so when it comes to “Twilight,” love certainly bites.

Though Summit Entertainment has yet to announce that the fourth book of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga will be made into film, "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson has confirmed that "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn" is likely to happen. Met at the press conference for "The Twilight Saga's New Moon", he claimed the fourth film is "pretty much inevitable."

Moreover, Pattinson has got a temporary production schedule for the next installment of the vampire drama movies, saying that he may start the shooting before the end of 2010. "I think it's going to be probably end of next year before filming," he stated. However, he added that the schedule is still subject to change.

"The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn" will serve as the follow up to the third "Twilight" film, "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse". It will still revolve around the love story between mortal beauty Bella Swan and hundred-year-old vampire Edward Cullen. Previously, there was a rumor that the fourth book may be split up into three movies, while the author, Stephenie Meyer, believes it should be made into two films.

Meanwhile, the upcoming "Twilight Saga" movie, "The Twilight Saga's New Moon", can be seen in U.S. theaters on November 20. The film centers on Bella who feels devastated after facing separation from his lover Edward, but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with werewolf Jacob Black.

Taylor Swift has fallen hard for outcast Phillip Frank.
The country singer, 19, spoofed "Twilight" during her stint on "Saturday Night Live" last night, where she stars as a heroine who falls for Frankenstein Phillip Frank.

In "Firelight," Swift's character (based on Kristen Stewart's Bella Swan) is intrigued by Bill Heder's Phillip Frank (based on Robert Pattinson's Edward Cullen). The unlikely duo falls in love, despite Phillip's urges to choke Taylor and his aversion to fire light.

Swift also poked fun at the criticism Kristen Stewart has gotten for biting her lip while acting -- Taylor chewed on her lips throughout the entire short.

Before performing live in New York City last night, Taylor wrote on her Twitter, "SNL is about to happen. Wow. I'm excited. And happy. And nervous. And excited." Swift's appearance on the comedy show marked her first visit as the host, and second as the musical guest.

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" opens in theatres November 20.

Robert Pattinson needs a leading lady for new film role after Nicole Kidman dropped out.

The 23-year-old 'Twilight' sensation was due to star alongside Nicole Kidman, in 'Bel Ami' but the 42-year-old actress has had to drop out of the film due to scheduling conflicts.

A representative for Nicole confirmed yesterday (05.11.09) that her starring in the film was "categorically not happening".

In the film - based on a novel by the French author Guy de Maupasant - Robert will play a corrupt journalist who manipulates his rich lover to become one of the most powerful men in France.

Robert has previously described the character as "totally amoral" suggesting it is the antithesis of his well known character Edward Cullen in 'Twilight'.

Playing the lothario will also be a departure for Robert, as he has previously said in real life he finds it hard to get dates, as girls are only interested in his 'Twilight' character.

He said: "Girls scream out for Edward, not Robert. I still can't get a date."

'Bel Ami' is the first film project from Simon Fuller, the media mogul who created American Idol and was the brains behind the Spice Girls.

The film will shoot in London and Budapest from February 2010.

'Bel Ami' is one of several projects lined up for Robert, who appears in the next installment in the 'Twilight' saga 'New Moon', which opens later this month.

The impresario Simon Fuller, who created the Spice Girls and now works with Victoria Beckham in fashion and her husband David in football, is to make his move into the Hollywood film industry. Fuller will be the executive producer of a feature film starring the young British heartthrob Robert Pattinson, known to his legion of young female fans as "RPattz".

The British entertainment mogul is now likely to explore a number of other movie projects, including film treatments of the lives of Elvis Presley and Muhammad Ali, sources say. Fuller is a director of CKX, the media company which owns the global film rights for both of these iconic American figures.

First, Fuller will oversee the film adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's erotic novel Bel Ami. Pattinson will star opposite Nicole Kidman as a young man who rises to the top of Parisian society in the 1890s, via the bed-chambers of the city's most powerful women. Pattinson is best known for his appearance in last year's romantic fantasy Twilight and for the part of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. In recent months Fuller has been spending time in California with influential Hollywood figures including Harvey Weinstein, co-founder of Miramax films, and Jerry Bruckheimer.

Fuller is involved in a joint venture with Ali, 67, and his wife Lonnie, and brought the couple to Britain in August on a fund-raising tour for the former boxer's favourite charities. CKX (the C and K stand for Content is King) includes among its subsidiaries Elvis Presley Enterprises, which manages Elvis's estate, Muhammad Ali Enterprises, and 19 Entertainment, the London-based business founded by Fuller.

Having created Pop Idol and turned it into one of the world's most successful television brands, including America's biggest show, American Idol, Fuller is branching out into multiple areas of the entertainment industry.

Earlier this year, 19 Entertainment acquired Storm model agency, which has Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford and Emma Watson on its books, among others. Fuller also recently launched a website, Fashionair, and has clinched a deal with the BBC to bring his American show So You Think You Can Dance to British television
in January.

19 represents music acts including Pop Idol winner Will Young, American Idol diva Kelly Clarkson and the country-and-western singer Carrie Underwood, who is managed from the company's office in Nashville. His first foray into feature films is a further indication of the breadth of his global media and entertainment empire.

Fuller, 49, who lives between London and Los Angeles, has a personal wealth estimated by The Sunday Times Rich List at £300m, and his company has three offices in America and others in London and Paris. He represents David Beckham and the tennis star Andy Murray. With the Beckhams he has developed a range of branded clothing and perfume with a retail value in excess of £120m.

Shooting of Bel Ami will begin in February and filming will take place in London and Budapest. The film will be directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod, the founders of acclaimed British theatre company Cheek By Jowl, which is best known for its Shakespearean productions. The producer of the movie is Uberto Pasolini, who worked on The Full Monty and Palookaville.

Fuller, 49, is the son of an RAF pilot-turned-teacher. He was born in Sussex and grew up in Cyprus, Germany and Ghana, where his father founded schools. He worked as a talent scout for Chrysalis record company and went into management at the age of 24. The name 19 Entertainment stems from "19", the name of the hit dance record by his first client, the electro-pop musician Paul Hardcastle.

This weekend, the New Zealand Herald did a spotlight article with Robert Pattinson, and he talked about everything from The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse to his other current and recent projects Remember Me, Unbound Captives, and Bel Ami.

In that discussion, Pattinson reflected on filming the three movies he's done this year (that is New Moon, Remember Me, and Eclipse) as well as what is soon to come.

Interestingly enough, while discussing those forthcoming productions, Pattinson alluded - once again - to the as-yet-officially-unannounced The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

Here's the passage.

I had three days off between Remember Me and Eclipse and then I've had to start learning Comanche and bareback riding for Unbound Captives. I don't only want to do the same part. I'm doing Bel Ami, based on the Guy de Maupassant novel in January as well, and I don't really know how I'm going to fit that in. I have to gain weight – but I don't think they'll let me put on much as I have to shoot the final Twilight movie afterwards. I have to look older, as the character Georges Duroy has been living hard for a good six years just getting drunk all the time. So I want to look a bit haggard.

So, filming for Bel Ami in January? . . . That means . . . well, you can probably figure it out. You can read the full interview and story here.

Pattinson's words here are but a few of the many that have been spoken on the subject of Breaking Dawn becoming a film - particularly by the cast. Though Boo Boo Stewart's statement that there would be five Twilight films was expressly rebuked as "premature," there has been no official denial of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn as an in-the-works project. That said, the disclaimer must also be made that there has been no official confirmation to that end either. So, until an official and unequivocal affirmation of the film's coming production is given, the matter continues to lay in wait.

Words like those of Robert Pattinson here, however, shouldn't go totally unnoticed. Thoughts?

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN production has been greenlit and I now have the latest information. The fourth saga in the Twilight Series is going back to it's roots and will be filmed in Portland, Oregon. Principal photography will not begin until September, 2010. The film's director has yet to be announced.

A new production company, Sunswept Entertainment, has been brought on board for Breaking Dawn. Sunswept Entertainment was created by Karen Rosenfelt, who is the daughter of former MGM Chairman and CEO Frank Edward Rosenfelt. Karen Rosenfelt served as Producer on both "Twilight" and on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse". She did not work on "New Moon", but is producing "Breaking Dawn through her Sunswept Entertainment banner.

There will likely be massive talent search for the role of Renesmee Cullen, the half-vampire, half-human daughter of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, just as there was through Actorcast for the roles of Seth and Leah Clearwater in "Eclipse". Many other roles are also to be cast.

Eclipse Set Tweets

The cast and crew are roughing it in the woods of Vancouver as they film Eclipse. Peter Facinelli sent out an amazing twitpic of where the cast is filming. By the looks of it, they do not need to worry about fans showing up crashing the party! Can't you just picture Bella, Edward, and Jacob hiding out in those woods? If you look hard enough, you might even see them.

Life as a vampire isn't so glamorous, especially if you are moonlighting as a human. After a very long work day, King Twitter Peter Facinelli did what he does best and updated us on his whereabouts. Facinelli tweeted, "Just worked an 18 hr day. Who said Vampires don't get tired? This ones is, Gnight. Sleep tight. Don't let the bad Vampa bite." Our other favorite onset Twitter junkie David Slade gave us some insight about filming with Kristen and Taylor. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse director tweeted, "Yesterday Taylor had to carry Kristen for several hours, he held it together - hope he can lift his arms today. Rain dumped on us all day." So hot! How great is it that daily we are given updates by the director, that does not happen with other movies!

Bella's Prom Dress

Don't shoot The Messenger but Homecoming is right around the corner and have you found a dress? We have an idea for you! The worst thing that could happen to any girl is to show up to a dance/event wearing the same dress as someone else. It does happen but it is always safe to try and avoid those situations. It happened to Pink and Shakira this past weekend at the VMA in New York City!

Anyway, if you are looking for the perfect dress, how about the one that Bella wore to prom with Edward in Twilight? Since it is nearly impossible to walk into your school with Edward on your arm, you mine as well be wearing the dress he escorted Bella in. Belva Bodey, owner of Black Diamond Bridal in Port Angeles, Washington has created Bella's dress for fans to purchase.

The store owner spoke with RadarOnline and said, "We wanted to give people the opportunity to dress in something festive which Bella wore," especially since Bella actually shopped in Port Angeles in the book to pick out her prom dress. "If she had shopped in Port Angeles, she would have bought her dress here." For only $130 you can be the Bell of the Ball!

New Moon Rating

Yesterday we talked about ratings because many fans were worried that the future Twilight Saga might be rated R. Don't worry, today the MPAA has rated The Twilight Saga: New Moon PG-13. If they ever make Breaking Dawn, it is going to be very hard to keep it in the PG-13 family with all the sexual content but like we said yesterday, Meyer gave them little wiggle room.

After all, we'd already hit you with news that Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift would be performing live at the at the September 13 show. But guess what? We're about to drop a pop-culture bomb of OME proportions.

"Twilight" stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will appear on the show to debut an exclusive expanded trailer for "New Moon," the second film in Summit Entertainment's vampire saga.

We'll repeat that slowly for you: Fresh "New Moon" footage. Pattinson. Stewart. Lautner. Boom!

The film's first trailer premiered during this year's MTV Movie Awards, and now the 26th annual VMAs are shaping up to be another bonanza for devoted Twilighters. On the day of the show, MTV.com will debut the first single off the "New Moon" soundtrack, the Death Cab for Cutie tune "Meet Me on the Equinox." Based the second book in Stephenie Meyer's supernatural series, "New Moon" is set for release on November 20, while the soundtrack drops on October 20.

Airing at 9 p.m. on September 13, the Russell Brand-hosted VMAs will pit Lady Gaga against Beyoncé, as each pop star has nabbed nine nominations, including nods for Video of the Year and Best Female Video. Britney Spears has garnered seven nominations for her "Womanizer" and "Circus" clips in categories like Video of the Year and Best Pop Video. Kanye West, Eminem and Coldplay received four nominations each.

Additional performers include Green Day, Pink and Muse. Among the evening's presenters are Katy Perry, Nelly Furtado, Leighton Meester, Chace Crawford, Ne-Yo and Miranda Cosgrove.

Twilight fans will be disappointed to learn that there will NOT be a fifth movie in the Twilight series. Yet. Sources tell RadarOnline.com that “It is absolutely not true,” that the fourth book Breaking Dawn will be split into two movies, denying fans another chance to see their beloved Edward on the big screen.

The newest addition to the Twilight family, Boo Boo Stewart, told Access Hollywood that he was signed on for three more movies (if you’re counting that means Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and an unnamed third) but our source insists that this is not the case…AT THIS POINT! So we’re going to hold our vampire breath, hopefully not for long, and keep our fingers crossed that the Breaking Dawn screenplay turns into two vampire movies.

The rest of the cast are spending free time in Vancouver doing what everyone else does in their downtime, shopping and working out. At least fans only have to wait until November 20 to see the second movie in the Twilight Saga: New Moon when it hits theaters.

A second portion of Fandango's behind-the-scenes look at The Twilight Saga: New Moon has been issued, and it is full of spoilers (though if you're here, you've either already been spoiled by all the Quote of the Days or you have read the books).

The account details a couple of scenes that prior set visit testimonials have certainly delved into quite nicely.

"[T]he domed, encapsulated set is constructed entirely of wood. Ladders are leaning against it in various places and spotlights are placed around it to give that sunlight-streaming-in effect," says Fandango's Lizerne Guiting.

The scene described in the account is, of course, the infamous Edward torture scene in the Volturi lair (involving none other than Robert Pattinson and Dakota Fanning, along with Kristen Stewart, Michael Sheen, and others). Guiting revealed a quote from the scene, said by Kristen Stewart as Bella.

"Stop! Stop it! You're hurting him!" she desperately yells and stutters to Jane, not taking her eyes off Edward. "Do whatever you want to me! Try it on me—Try it on me! Just stop hurting him—please!"

Guiting goes on to discuss meeting Stephenie Meyer and Melissa Rosenberg, as well as her encounter with other Volturi castmates like Christopher Heyerdahl and Jamie Campbell-Bower.

What she describes of Dakota Fanning, however, would be proven accurate by the "Meet Jacob Black" feature released by Summit Entertainment recently.

Fanning looks nearly unrecognizable with her pale skin and her hair pulled back into a sophisticated, twist up-do. Her red lips match her wide, blood-red eyes, accented with smoky eye-shadow. She's wearing a black and purple, hooded dress coat with a small cape around her shoulders. "The coat's adorable!" Meyer says.

Now that you've read the Part 1 of our two-day New Moon Vancouver set visit, we'll dive right in to our spoiler-ridden Part 2!

There's a smoky haze all around the sound studio and the air is heavy with the smell of sawdust. We media folks are gathered around the viewing area, where monitors and headphones are set up for VIPs who have their names on the back of their chairs. Stephenie Meyer and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg are among them. We're standing behind them, quietly scribbling notes on every little thing.

Kristen Stewart's Heated Rehearsal

The monitors show the inside of the Volturi's underground lair. To us, standing right outside of it, the domed, encapsulated set is constructed entirely of wood. Ladders are leaning against it in various places and spotlights are placed around it to give that sunlight-streaming-in effect. Kristen Stewart rehearses a scene with Cameron Bright, who plays Alec. Off screen, Alec's witch twin – Jane (Dakota Fanning) – is torturing Edward with her special power that gives the illusion of pain. All we see is Stewart's reaction: "Stop! Stop it! You're hurting him!" she desperately yells and stutters to Jane, not taking her eyes off Edward. "Do whatever you want to me! Try it on me—Try it on me! Just stop hurting him—please!" Bright holds her arm as she futilely attempts to twist free. Cut to a close-up of Stewart's face. Her brows are furrowed and she's misty-eyed. The camera lingers on Stewart as she falls silent. Off screen, we hear a high-pitched laugh and voice of Michael Sheen, who plays Aro: "How remarkable! She confounds us all..."

The rehearsal continues a few more times, with different camera angles set up on Stewart. In between takes, she and director Chris Weitz discuss. Stewart's hand gestures are pronounced, but she manages to keep smiling. A man walks up to her and gently combs her hair back into place. On set, a guy yells "Everybody, shut the hell up!" silencing the whispers that are adding to the ambient noise. After some of the takes, Stewart has a smirk on her face—she looks slightly embarrassed. It reminds me of a scene in Twilight where Bella is in the hospital and she's stuttering the word "no" as she pleads with Edward not to leave her. Suddenly, someone from the crew marches up to our viewing section. "All guests, step out," he commands tersely. He repeats himself, and I and the other press members get a move on. Did Kristen request that we leave? Who knows. Outside, we spot a blond bloke wearing a Volturi get-up, loitering with a cigarette in one hand and a water bottle in the other. It's Caius (Jamie Campbell Bower)! We snag him for an exclusive interview. He's hilarious—definitely the comedian of the Volturi coven.

Meeting the Writers

When a crew member calls us back inside, we tiptoe back to the viewing area; they're finishing up the rehearsal when our studio contact beckons us to meet Stephenie Meyer. She smiles warmly and we exchange whispered greetings and handshakes. She's been completely gracious to everyone on the set from what I've observed. A crew member had approached her earlier to have a copy of "New Moon" autographed, to which she kindly obliged. The whole time, she's been sitting at the viewing area watching the Volturi scenes come to life. Volturi actors like Charlie Bewley, who plays Demetri, and Chris Heyerdahl who plays Marcus, also stopped by the viewing area during their breaks to watch. It was difficult not to notice the 6-foot-4 Heyerdahl, who stood beside me towered over me. He, too, met Meyer for the first time during our set visit.

During downtime, we meet up with Rosenberg who had just finished a first draft of Eclipse. As a screenwriter for "Dexter," she'd been working double time to churn out a quality script for the next Twilight episode (complete with Easter eggs or "winks" for avid readers). "I'm really, really aware now in a way that I wasn't with Twilight of how intense and huge the fan base is," she confesses. "I don't want to be the woman who kills their beloved book." She's been watching the Volturi scenes with Meyer and she says they're turning out better than she imagined. She's ecstatic about the Volturi casting. "Oh my God, it's fantastic!" she says, having viewed the shooting. Although this movie puts more of Jacob in the spotlight, she promises Edward still has a presence. "I think fans will feel pretty satisfied with what we are doing, one, because it's true to the book, and two, because we'll see more Edward."

Like every book-to-film adaptation, Rosenberg admits there are differences in the film. "There are many things that change, but as long as we hit the emotional experience, I think it will resonate the same way," Rosenberg says.

There's been lots of talk going around about a Volturi fight scene in the movie that's not in the book. Stunt coordinator J.J. Makaro says it'll be a different style than we're used to seeing. "We're striving for a look of our own," he says. We're trying to strip down all of the old things that you've seen in a vampire movie. If you've seen it before we try to get rid of it—try to figure a different way around it."

Dakota Fanning Jane and Edward's Torturous Scenes

One little vampire who plays a huge role in the new film is Jane, played by Dakota Fanning. As the more prominent witch twin, she's known for her an angelic look that clashes with her sadistic persona. In the scenes we view, she's using her special gift—inflicting pain on her victims without lifting a finger—on Edward. Edward's scene was altogether filmed separately since he was on wires, but let's include what we saw from that scene, too, for continuity.

Robert Pattinson is cloaked in a hooded crimson, velvet, Volturi robe and his bare chest is partly exposed. As Aro gives Jane the green light to try her power on Bella, Edward runs in front of her and he receives the full fury of Jane's infliction. Pattinson stops in his tracks, arches his head back and expresses a look of excruciating pain. He lets out a grunt, the wires pull him back, and then drop him on his back. A camera that's zoomed in on Jane's face shows her red eyes widen and follow him to the spot on the ground where he falls. She hardly blinks. As Bella begs her to stop, Jane keeps staring, and her lips curve into a faint, smug smile.

Meyer and others watch throughout, mesmerized. After the take, Dakota stops by the viewing area and says "See you tomorrow!" to Meyer. Fanning looks nearly unrecognizable with her pale skin and her hair pulled back into a sophisticated, twist up-do. Her red lips match her wide, blood-red eyes, accented with smoky eye-shadow. She's wearing a black and purple, hooded dress coat with a small cape around her shoulders. "The coat's adorable!" Meyer says. After she's left, Dakota's stand-in provides a much better look at her paper-thin, pixie-like dress underneath. It's cream-colored and layered, and she's wearing white tights and one-inch heeled Mary Janes.

After his torturous ordeal with Jane, Edward lies on his back on the marble floor of the Volturi chamber. Aro is in the background and Alice (Ashley Greene) crouches at his side. One of her hands is on his shoulder and the other is on his stomach. She has an "are you OK?" look on her face as she hovers over him. A crewmember issues them stage directions: To Pattinson: "In pain." To Greene: "Now you look up at Bella." When Edward sits up, the velvet hooded robe he's wearing comes off a tad too much revealing his chest. Some crew members giggle as someone from wardrobe fixes it and reties the knot. I guess they're going for just a hint of skin...

Before we switched studios to check out Pattinson's green screen work, we loitered on the Volturi sets after the cast and crew took off. We walked through one long, sand-stone colored passage that begins with a dungeon-like gate (probably the place where Volturi guard Heidi lures her victims); multiple arches stretch across overhead. On the sides of the passage walls, there are cavern crevices with little gardens. Each has different animal statues and some have water fountains. There are also stalactites, giving it an ancient, yet beautiful aura associated with the Volturi. The passage was actually made of Styrofoam—yes, I touched it—but it's amazing how much painstaking detail was put into all the sets, costumes and stunts to bring the Volturi to life.

Although I'm not a big fan of Kristen Stewart's, I HAVE accepted her as playing the part of Bella for that's all we've been given. This article I thought would be of interest to the fans so here it is.

WASHINGTON - Actress Kristen Stewart will appear nude in her new film Welcome to The Rileys.

The Twilight star plays a young lap dancer plus prostitute, and walks around naked in many scenes in James Gandolfini’s new flick.

Apparently, the teenage star was a little nervous to film the scenes, and so she asked her Twilight co-star Nikki Reed to join her on the set of the film in New Orleans, Louisiana.

“I’m going with Kristen to New Orleans… while she’s shooting and I’m a good support system… I have to go to be with Kristen,” Contactmusic quoted Reed as telling About.com.

But Stewart is excited about the film and feels that her nude shots will lure her fans to theatres.

She said: “It’s an independent movie that nobody would normally see and now it’s like, ‘Oh, let’s go see Bella (Twilight character) in this stripper movie; it’ll be crazy!’”

Also, Kristen is delighted to work with the Sopranos star and considers the role in the film to be the hardest she has ever done.

She added: “Working with James Gandolfini and (co-star) Melissa Leo, who is just incredible, was the most fruitful life-changing experience on a movie that I’ve ever had.

“It was just the hardest subject matter I’ve ever had to deal with - I play a very broken young girl who is a runaway. She’s

a street kid. She’s working in a strip club and James Gandolfini’s character is just as dead inside as she is - and they wake each other up.”

Breaking Dawn: What's Up With the Movie?!

Breaking Dawn will be made into a movie!

While there's been no official announcement that all systems are go for a fourth Twilight flick, a rep for Summit Entertainment promises that Eclipse will not be the last we see of Robert Pattinson & company...

"The fans should rest assured the we're working with Stephenie Meyer to bring Breaking Dawn to the big screen," the rep said. "As in all creative processes, things take time. We want to make sure we get it right."

And as Twilight fans know, that probably means softening the more hard-core aspects of Breaking Dawn.

"Our fans are in the PG age range, and I don't feel a big necessity to see violence and to see gore," Twilight/New Moon/Eclipse screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg told us in late April.

Gore or not, Kristen Stewart probably said it best when we chatted with her in March.

"We all really hope there is going to be a number four," she said at the time. "I'm pretty confident that the fans aren't going to...lose interest. The only case that a fourth one wouldn't be made is if all of a sudden people stopped caring, and I really don't think that's going to happen."

New Moon Trailer 2?

I could have sworn that I heard that another New Moon trailer was coming out today. I looked at YouTube, and found several along with the info that the trailer was going to be at the theatres debuting after some movie, which name escapes me.
Anyway I looked at some of the ones at YouTube which the users say they filmed at the theatre, they are BAD quality. However I found one, and while I don't think it's an official trailer, there WERE more scenes in it than the previous official N.M. trailer and the teaser.

I don't know where the user got this but the quality, was the best I could find. Enjoy!

Jack Huston Joins "THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE"

Jack Huston (ABC's upcoming "Eastwick") has joined the cast of Summit Entertainment's "THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE". He will play Royce King II, a human that lived during the Great Depression.

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Xavier Samuel, Bryce Dallas Howard and Jodelle Ferland star in the third installment of the franchise based on Stephenie Meyer's novels.

Production begins shortly in Vancouver under the direction of David Slade ("30 DAYS OF NIGHT").

Its scheduled for a June 30, 2010 release.

Twilight 'Eclipse' Gains Another Solid Actress

Five years ago I would have guessed Catalina Sandino Moreno would have become a bigger star to this point after her terrific (yet disturbing) performance in Maria Full of Grace, and while she has still managed a few solid roles, her name isn't on the tip of everyone's tongue. Well, she is returning to the role of a Maria as she has been cast in Summit's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse as the vampire Maria, a woman who tries to create a newborn army of vampires, recruiting the Confederate soldier Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) to her cause.

Eclipse is the third film in the franchise as The Twilight Saga: New Moon is set to hit theaters on November 20 following last year's hit Twilight.

Sandino Moreno is the second star to join the Eclipse cast in recent days as Jodelle Ferland and Jack Huston were also recently recruited. Ferland's character is yet to be confirmed while Huston will play Royce King II, a human that lived during the Great Depression.

In Eclipse, Bella (Kristen Stewart) once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward (Robert Pattinson) and her friendship with Jacob (Taylor Lautner) — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death.

A new trailer for New Moon will be arriving this Friday while the following 14-second teaser to that trailer was released to whet the Twilighters' appetites. Yes, an actual teaser for a teaser was officially released by the studio. They know exactly what they are doing… and it's working.

'Twilight' Stars Amazed By Teen Choice Awards Sweep

UNIVERSAL CITY, California — The sky is blue. Water is wet. And once again, at Sunday's taping of the 2009 Teen Choice Awards, mankind was reminded of one more indisputable fact: Teens love "Twilight."

"All the wins were incredible," marveled Ashley Greene, moments after the show ended and the stars of the saga walked out with 11 awards. "It's such a bizarre thing to be invited — and then to clean up the way we did? Our fans are indescribable — it's amazing, who does that? Who gets to be a part of that? It's a blast, and it was a really cool show."

Surfboard awards were handed out to Greene and friends for Choice Movie: Drama, Romance, Actor (Robert Pattinson), Actress (Kristen Stewart), Villain (Cam Gigandet), Fresh Face Female (Greene), Fresh Face Male (Taylor Lautner), Liplock (Stewart and Pattinson) and Rumble (Pattinson and Gigandet). Another highlight came when RPattz walked onstage to accept his Choice Male Hottie prize alongside female winner Megan Fox. Fans can see the whole thing when the show airs Monday evening (August 10) on Fox.

"It was fantastic, but we couldn't hear anything that anybody was saying," Jackson Rathbone said of the moment when the whole cast went onstage together. "When Taylor was talking, when Rob was talking, when Catherine [Hardwicke] was talking, we were all looking at each other, like, 'Can you hear that?' I didn't know what was going on."

"I'm utterly amazed; it's so exciting how many people love the movie," Justin Chon gushed on the red carpet before the event. But all these months after the cast's memorable MTV Movie Awards sweep, he said receiving accolades still hasn't gotten old. "I don't think you ever get used to it. It's always a new experience at every awards show; it's for a different demographic. If it speaks to teens, that's great."

"It never gets old," Kellan Lutz agreed, thinking about the evening's events. "Twelve noms? That's amazing. ... Rob's here, Jackson's here. Summit's brilliant at casting people with awesome hair and full lips.

"It's an awesome story about forbidden love," Lutz added, getting serious for a moment. "You can't go wrong with that."

As Twilighters know, all the kids in Forks love to go surfing at La Push beach — otherwise known as the 'hood of Mr. Jacob Black. But despite the 11 surfboards that "Twilight" won at the Teen Choice Awards, Lautner insisted that he won't be taking any of the trophies out for a test drive.

"I'm not the best surfer, so that might not be a good idea," he laughed. "Yeah, I've got to do some practice."

'Twilight' tops Teen Choice Awards with 12 nods

The "Twilight" phenomenon rolls on as the teen vampire romance leads with an even dozen nominations going into this Sunday's Teen Choice Awards.

"Slumdog Millionaire" may be the reigning Oscar champ, but it runs far behind "Twilight" with only six TCA bids. The two films face off for best drama as well as actor (Robert Pattinson and Dev Patel) and actress (Kristen Stewart and Freida Pinto).

Six of the "Twilight" cast – Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, fresh-face nominees Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed, as well as Kellan Lutz – are slated to appear on the Teen Choice Awards. The kudofest – held at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City – airs Monday night on Fox.

At the MTV Movie Awards in May, "Twilight" won five awards, including best film. The Teen Choice Awards boast many more categories, with seven surfboards handed out for top films as well as actor and actress in the following genres: action/adventure, bromantic comedy, comedy, drama, horror/thriller and music/dance.

In second place among the movies is "High School Musical 3," which has 10 nominations, including best music/dance movie and four acting nods (Corbin Bleu, Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale).

Kirsten Dunst is sending Robert Pattinson Sexy texts, Wants Eclipse Role

Earlier today, Kaiser told you how Robert Pattinson is getting his hunky heart broken by his mortal co-star Kristen Stewart. While Pattinson was off having a maybe-fling with his other co-star, Emille de Ravin, Stewart decided to get back together with her ex boyfriend, dashing Pattinson’s hope of a reunion. At least, according to the National Enquirer. I’m hoping that behind the scenes these two are quietly still together and will eventually get married and have supernatural babies. (I’m undoubtedly influenced by the fact that I’m almost done reading the third Twilight novel, Eclipse. I know this is lame for an adult married mom, but work with me here.)

According to Star Magazine, there might been an even more sinister twist to the Pattinson/Stewart love pentagon. Kirsten Dunst is said to be trying to get her skinny thrift store claws on Edward, I mean Robert! She’s been sending the British actor sexy text messages trying to entice him into her messy lair.

Kirst Dunst has set Robert Pattinson square in her sights! “Kirsten is absolutely infatuated with him and thinks he would be the ideal boyfriend,” a friend tells Star. The pair first crossed paths while Rob, 23, was filming Remember Me in New York City earlier this summer. “She’s been sending Rob a barrage of flirty texts, letting him know she is very interested in getting to know him better - whenever and wherever he wants.” The 27 year-old has even hatched a desperate plan to lobby for a part in Eclipse, the third film in the hit vampire series, according to another source. “She thinks they would have a lot in common.” After all, Kirsten had her own taste of bloodsucking notoriety in 1994’s Interview with the Vampire!

The best part of this story is that Star uses one of those photos of Kirsten Dunst in which her two canine teeth (I thought those were the incisors or whatever, but I looked it up) are stuck to her lip like fangs. That’s really why I’m running this story - I just wanted to recreate that image. Plus it never hurts to alert the Twihards that they have some competition. Maybe they’ll boycott her movies and complain about her on their blogs. (Oh wait, I’m doing that.) Stay away from Kirsten, Rob!

Undoubtedly, Twilight actor Robert Pattinson has got a big crowd of lady fans following. Even actresses like Kristen Stewart, Megan Fox, Kirsten Dunst and many others have expressed their crush on Rob directly or indirectly. His Twilight and New Moon costar Nikki Reed has said that Rob pattiz is swooning because he’s very feminine.

In an exclusive interview to People.com, Nikki Reed shared some interesting remarks about costars Rachelle Lefevre and Robert Pattinson. Talking about Summit Entertainment's decision to replace Lefevre with actress
Bryce Dallas Howard in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, She said, "I haven't talked to Lefevre yet. I don't know anything about it other than a schedule conflict."

But she denied the replacement of Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen in Eclipse. Answering to a question why fans swoon for her costar Rob, Nikki Reed said, “Rob is sort of feminine looking and I think young girls like boys that look like women.”

However, Robert Pattinson is currently filming Remember Me alongside Emile de Ravin. The Twilight cast begins filming the third installment Eclipse, in August. The Twilight sequel New Moon hits theaters this November.

With news still fresh on Lefevre being replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard in Eclipse, the third film of the popular series, Reed, who plays vampire Rosalie Hale, tells PEOPLE she hasn't "talked to [Lefevere] yet." "I don't know anything about it other than a schedule conflict," said Reed at the Express TXT L8TR Campaign party at Nobu in West Hollywood Wednesday night – the same day the news broke of the switch.

Summit Entertainment defended the decision Thursday to use Howard as the villainous vampire Victoria due to Lefevre's commitment to the Dustin Hoffman film Barney's Version, which is slated to film at the same time as Eclipse.

But one thing is for sure: No one will be replacing Pattinson as Edward Cullen, as fans are absolutely dedicated to the actor. Why does Reed think he's got such a following? "Rob is sort of feminine looking and I think young girls like boys that look like women," she said.

New Moon, the second film in the four part series, premieres Nov. 20.

Any Twilight fan knows that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart do not do well in interviews. If they are alone in a room together, in front of a camera, carelessly making fun of the interview questions, I don't think they have any problem (seriously, check out the links, those are the few good ones). You put them in a room full of six thousand screaming fans and they freeze up. I just don't know why.

Okay, yes, I might be a bit harsh as I'm sure I would have some difficulties facing a crowd that big but they're actors, movie stars even, so shouldn't they be able to fake comfort? Instead, Kristen Stewart looks like she's about to punch the next person to ask her how good of a kisser Robert is. Robert shrinks down into his chair as if he's about to crawl under the table, grab the legs and let out a frail cry, "earthquake!"

With these two, how do you make a press conference or an appearance interesting enough for anyone over the age of 13? The answer comes from an unlikely source: Taylor Lautner. I first met Taylor last year when he stopped by Seattle on the Twilight mall tour. He definitely didn't come across as shy. Maybe a little bashful when the recently fired, oh I mean resigned, Rachelle Lefevre would comment about his good looks or girls.

But Taylor Lautner's finally stepped into his own and it's time for us all to take notice and give credit where credit's due. Lautner is warm, funny and playful with the audience. He brings a lightness that Stewart and Pattinson alone lack.

New Moon director Chris Weitz said, "It's funny. In a way, he's the least prepared for the intense scrutiny, but he's very balanced about it. Whereas I think Rob and Kristen are very sheepish about it. Not that they don't appreciate it. But they're thrown a bit by it."

His boyish good looks, winning smile and sparkling (sorry Edward) personality just might be the very thing the Twilight franchise needs. Kristen Stewart even admitted that Jacob's character can have fun and be light with Bella in a way that she can't be with Edward. I know we all like the emo, but I'm glad we'll have a laugh or two along the way. So thanks Taylor Lautner. Thanks for being so calm, warm and collected.

We at Summit Entertainment are disappointed by Rachelle Lefevre’s recent comments which attempt to make her career choices the fault of the Studio. Her decision to discuss her version of the scheduling challenges publicly has forced the Studio to set the record straight and correct the facts.

• Ms. Lefevre’s representatives were advised as early as April that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE was expected to start shooting in early August.

• If Ms. Lefevre was, as she describes “passionate,” about being part of THE TWILIGHT SAGA, we feel that she and her representatives would have included us in her decision to work on another film that would conflict with the shooting schedule of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.

• It was not until July 20th that Summit was first informed of Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to BARNEY’S VERSION, a commitment we have since been advised she accepted in early June. Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. We feel that her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production.

• Furthermore Ms. Lefevre took a role in the other film that places her in Europe during the required rehearsal time, and at least ten days of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE’s principal photography. This period is essential for both rehearsal time with the cast, and for filming at key locations that are only available during the initial part of production.

• Contrary to Ms. Lefevre’s statement, it is simply untrue that the Studio dismissed her over a ten day overlap. It is not about a ten day overlap, but instead about the fact that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE is an ensemble production that has to accommodate the schedules of numerous actors while respecting the established creative vision of the filmmaker and most importantly the story.

The fact remains that Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to the other project - which she chose to withhold from Summit until the last possible moment - makes her unfortunately unavailable to perform the role of Victoria in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.

Twilight's Eclipse: Rachelle Lefevre's Side of the Story

Summit Entertainment once again has made a controversial decision regarding The Twilight Saga franchise. They have decided that Rachelle Lefevre will not be recast in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse - and they did this without even consulting the actress first.

When this story first hit, Summit made it out to sound like a simple "scheduling conflict" and it seemed perfectly reasonable; after all, these things do happen. But to make this decision without even consulting the actress, that is beyond callous.

Summit wants to get all of the Twilight movies out as quickly as possible and if one of the cast is unavailable for shooting, it's reasonable the two parties would find a compromise, but Summit didn't go that route - instead, they quietly found a new actress, Bryce Dallas Howard, to take her place and then made the announcement.

In her own words, Rachelle is "hurt deeply by Summit's decision to move on without her." Clearly, this is as much news to her as it is to the rest of the world. She goes on to state that she had "turned down several film opportunities" and "only Accepted roles with short shooting schedules."

This all boils down to a ten-day shooting schedule she had agreed to do for a small indie film called Barney's Version. It turns out that Summit wants to begin shooting on the same day that filming for the indie film is scheduled to begin. Here are some questions for you...

Couldn't they begin shooting without her? Eclipse will be filming for three months; ten days shouldn't make much of a difference! Quite frankly, can you see Summit making this decision if it were Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, or Taylor Lautner who had a ten day scheduling conflict? Couldn't Summit move the scheduling up ten days? Isn't it possible that Barney's Version could have been scheduled ten days prior? Bottom line, there were options that could have been explored, and from what Rachelle is saying, Summit didn't bother to try.

Rachelle goes on to state she "was happy with her contract with Summit" and that she was "fully prepared to continue to honor it." And in what I would have to say is the saddest statement of all, Rachelle continues with, "Summit chose simply to recast the part. I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the Twilight audience."

'New Moon' Stars Still Find Comic-Con 'Terrifying'

SAN DIEGO — Appropriately enough for a movie series about a
vampire clan that never sleeps, "Twilight" day at Comic-Con
began bright and early. Gathered together at 9:30 a.m. Thursday
July 23)for an invite-only press conference, a small group of
reporters took up about a third of the massive ballroom at the
Hilton Bayfront hotel, eager to talk fame, fiction and fanpires
with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

"This year, I have something to say," Pattinson laughed,
remembering that he was overwhelmed to the point of near
speechlessness last year."It's much more terrifying."

"This is a severely emotional movie. ... There are high points for
Bella, but she's a manic-depressive basically," Stewart said of her
"New Moon" performance. "There was more to think about. It's a
more mature part."

Speaking with other reporters before the event, none of us Comic-
Con veterans could recall a movie having an event like this before.
Summit Entertainment claimed an entire ballroom for media only,
no Twilighters allowed. Not "Lord of the Rings," not "Iron Man" or
anything else had ever needed its own press event — a testament
to the enormous growth of both "Twilight" and Comic-Con in general.

"It's crazy," Lautner said when the trio were asked about how
they've been dealing with the fame. "None of us saw it coming,
and this past year has been a ride for us."

Kristen Stewart, who currently has short black locks to play Joan
Jett in "The Runaways," laughed, "I cut my hair off."

"It's still so young to me, I can't claim anything as a low,"
Pattinson said when asked about his avalanche of fame.
"I live a nearly identical life, except for being recognized.
It's not the worst thing in the world.
I never did anything 'normal' before — and now, I get other
people to do that for me."

Pattinson confirmed that Thursday afternoon's massive fan
event in Hall H will screen a clip featuring him. The line
outside the convention center is arguably the longest in
Comic-Con history.

Speaking specifically about Stephenie Meyer's franchise,
Stewart said, "You're so much inside [Bella's] head, it
feels like home."

"When I play it, I try to eliminate the vampire element as
much as I can," Pattinson said of playing Edward Cullen. "I
only see it as a tool to make things more fraught."

"I did a lot of the apparition scenes, which were me doing
one line a week," Pattinson remembered of the ghost-like
appearances he filmed at the beginning of the "New Moon"
shoot. "I had a stress- free three months. All the
pressure was on Taylor."

Asked for the one "Twilight" question they hope to never
answer again, Lautner knew his answer immediately. "To growl.
I'm asked that by a lot by fans, and I don't like doing that,"
he said. "So, fans, please don't ask me that. Wait for the movie."

Pattinson's least favorite question? "What's it like kissing
Taylor Lautner?" he grinned.

Comic Con kicked off with a fang yesterday as "Twilight"
easily stole the show.

Screaming fans spent days camped outside of the San Diego
Convention Center for a chance at seeing the toothsome cast from
the 2008 vampire romance that's bagged more than $380 million at
worldwide box offices.

While the annual fan fest packs four days promoting a plethora
of camp films to come -- from Tim Burton's upcoming "Alice in
Wonderland" to "Iron Man 2," the cast of vampire series adapted
from Stephenie Meyers' novels was the convention's biggest draw.

Thousands of adoring fanatics packed the Hall and shrieked
every time the young cast's names were mentioned as director
Chris Weitz warmed up the room.

"I've been stalking Rob Pattinson for about 10 years now," he
cracked, "so when I got a chance to get within touching distance
of him, I leapt for it."

Weitz debuted exclusive clips from "New Moon" opening on
November 20, which has Kirsten Stewart's teenage character
Bella Swan maturing and striking out on her own without
Edward, the undead hunk played by Pattinson.

In the sequel, Bella is torn between old flame Edward and
new man Jacob Black, a charismatic werewolf played by Taylor
Lautner. Six-pack abs and adolescent angst abound.

The slight Lautner admits he packed on some serious muscle to
play the part. "I hit the gym, got a personal trainer, ate good
foods, cut out the sugars," he tells Reuters.

It did the trick. One clip showing Jacob teaching Bella how
to ride a motorcycle received enthusiastic cheers when viewers
got a peek of his toned stomach.

Clearly Weitz, who replaces original "Twilight" director Catherine
Hardwicke, won't be straying from the sexual undertones of the
first film. But some stylistic differences are unavoidable, say
cast members.

"With Catherine, everything was very impulsive and natural," Stewart
tells EW.com. "We didn't have to think about anything, we just
went for it. This time was a little more cerebral."

For his part, Weitz is relishing the new gig. "The last film I
made ["The Golden Compass"]was recut by the studio, and it was quite a terrible
experience. This has been completely different. It's been a tremendously
rejuvenating experience for me. I can remember how much fun it is to
make a film."

Comic Con continues through Sunday. Tickets have been sold out for weeks.
